Scientific Rationale

In the last three decades, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) have evolved from distinct procedural domains into two interdependent pillars of modern pancreatobiliary medicine. Today, the boundaries between diagnosis and therapy, imaging and intervention, morphology and function are dissolving. The 8th EUS-ERCP Connection Course introduces and consolidates a forward-looking paradigm: EURCP — a conceptual and practical integration of EUS and ERCP into a single, strategic, patient-centered approach. Aim of the Course is to highlight the most updated developments in EUS and ERCP and their combined use, summed up in the new concept of EURCP which includes a whole world of new ideas and ways to approach the biliopancreatic pathology from both a diagnostic and therapeutic point of view. All this together with the possibility of a deep insight into the new diagnostic and therapeutic ancillary techniques and newly developed devices, such as digital peroral cholangioscopy and pancreatoscopy, intraductal ultrasound and probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy, the new LAMS and next-generation devices and more. Participants will be able to see live demonstrations of high quality EUS +/-FNA/FNB procedures, EUS-guided therapeutic and ERCP techniques and at the same time will have a fantastic view into the most recent advances in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic management of patients with biliopancreatic diseases. The theoretical part of the Conference will encompass a varied and comprehensive program of lectures, discussions and video presentations by experts from different countries around the worldfacing increasingly complex clinical challenges: Early pancreatic cancer detection, management of pancreatic cystic lesions, Autoimmune pancreatitis and inflammatory mimickers, Neuroendocrine tumors and metastatic disease, Endo-hepatology, Post-pandemic safety, infection control, and MDRO management.

The scientific journey of the Course follows a precise trajectory:

1.    Technology driving technique – Understanding what truly matters beyond innovation marketing.

The participants (Gastroenterology fellows, advanced endoscopists, interventional EUS specialists, ERCP Experts, hepatobiliary surgeons, oncologists and multidisciplinary team, fellows aiming to build a modern, integrated endoscopic mindset) will be able to experience and learn about the most important hepato-biliary and pancreatic pathologies and their up-to-date management both clinical and endoscopic. The ultimate goal of this Course is not only to update knowledge, but to reshape perspective.EURCP represents a new grammar of biliopancreatic care — one where imaging becomes intervention, where intervention becomes strategy, and where precision becomes the guiding principle.This Course invites participants not just to learn new techniques, but to rethink how we approach pancreatobiliary disease in the third millennium.
